This year’s event will take place at Allestree Woodlands School, Blenhiem Drive Derby DE22 2LW.

NOTE! Towels are not permitted in transition – only a small flannel 12″ x 12″ (30cm x 30cm) which must be rolled up in the competitors shoe, or placed directly underneath the transition racking horizontal bar if only using one pair of shoes for the entire race.

We had to really think hard about entry prices last year to keep the event viable and we want to encourage earlier sign ups. We get it – there’s a lot out there to think about as a parent. To encourage earlier entries we are offering Early bird pricing at 10% off for all race categories until Sunday 5th April. Prices will then return to the standard entry cost until Sunday 17th May. A Late Entry fee of £5 will be applied thereafter.
NOTE: The age of all entrants is as of the 31st December of the race year, not their age on the day of the race!
NOVICE DUATHLON CATEGORY
We recognise that racing for the first time as part of a regional competition is daunting for all ages. To complement the TriStart age group we introduced an Untimed Novice category at a lower entry fee than the League races for 2025. This attracted some kids that otherwise wouldn’t have raced but we also want to remove the barrier to entry for less confident swimmers and are replacing this with a NOVICE DUATHLON category for 2026. This will not be part of the East Midlands League series and is a stand alone race aligned to the maximum distance for TS1 age category. This race will be open to children 9 and above.
What to expect: This event will take place on an adapted course layout. You will be given a briefing prior to your wave start explaining each stage of the course.
RUN 1 – 100 metres (similar to Swim to T1 route)
BIKE – 1600 metres (2 laps)
RUN 2 – 1200 metres (sprint to the finish!)
