Winter Run

Winter Training Runs

We train every Wednesday throughout the Winter running most weeks at Eaton Bank and visiting Carsington Water once a month which includes a trip to the Miners Arms for Steak Night.  These runs are open to non-members and members.

Groups of similar speed are formed on the night and depart at the following times.

  • 6.45pm - Steady group
  • 7.00pm - Medium/Fast group

The runs will be at Eaton Bank except when the runs will be at Carsington Water which will coincide with Steak Night. If you wish to join us for Steak night after the run then please make sure you sign-up - so we know how big a table to book.

Eaton Bank - 7 miles (11.2km)

The route starts and finishes opposite the Co-op in Little Eaton.  This route is 80% off-road with much of it on paths through woodland and can be slippery underfoot with mud and tree roots.  A pair of trail/off-road shoes are essential and a good headtorch is an absolute must.

There are no toilet or changing facilities.

Carsington Water - 8 miles (12.8km)

The route starts and finishes at the Miners Arms pub in Carsington Village and after a brief section of road the route follows the path around the outside of Carsington Reservoir. The path is firm underfoot and can be completed in road running shoes but a a pair of trail/off-road shoes wouldn't go amiss.  Headtorch required.

There are no changing facilities but but if you ask nicely you can use the toilets in the pub.
