DTC Club Handicap  Back again next season 2012

DTC Club Handicap

There is no swimming on Thursday 29th July 2010 because we will using the pool for the DTC Club Handicap. The Club Handicap is open to Club Members Only.

The start of the handicap is staggered according to individuals' past performances, so that all competitors finish the race at about the same time. If all goes well, there is an exciting sprint down the final straight. The race rewards not the fastest athlete but the athlete who performs best relative to their previous performance.

If you have yet to have a go at the Summer Series or have never had a go at a triathlon then this is the event for you.

• 400m Swim
• 15km Bike
• 4.6km Run

In order to make this event happen we need all entries by midday Wednesday 28th July 2010 so that we can calculate the handicaps and get the running order sorted.

In order to calculate the handicaps we need to have an estimate of your times. For those that have completed the summer series previously providing an estimate of your times is easy but for the rest of you then we need your best guess.

• If you have never competed in a triathlon before you need to provide us with your best estimate.
• If you have completed in a sprint distance triathlon then let us know which race and provide us with your splits (make sure you let us know if the splits include or exclude your transition).

You will be expected to wear a swim cap so the race is like a real triathlon. If you do not have a swim cap then CLICK HERE to find out about the new Club caps.

Due to the work required calculating the handicaps and creating the running order entries will not be accepted on the night so if you want to take part then make sure you enter.

• Registration - 18:30 to 18:50
• Race briefing - 19:00
• Race Start - 19:05
• Price £3

Please remember this is a training event and you must obey the highway code at all times.

If you don’t want to take part or are unable to then we do need some help timekeeping and marshalling this event.
