Derby Runner Cross Country League 2011/12

Derby Runner Cross Country League 2011/12

The Derby Runner Cross Country League gets underway again this Autumn with DTC in Division 1, we're hoping for some strong performances. This closed league consists of 5-6 cross country races of 5-7 miles all based around the East Midlands.

The cross country league is also an excellent way to do some winter strength work in readiness for next season, and every place we take off other clubs counts! Although the races are competitive, they are fairly low-key events with a good friendly club atmosphere.

The courses are usually proper cross country, so muddy and hilly. The club had over 25 individuals competing last year with a great team spirit, and s and are stayed in the First Division with the big boys!

In each race we need 8 men including 2 vets (over 40) and 4 women including 2 vets to score and as a team we need to score in 5 of 6 races, which considering we will struggle to get a team out for the first race which clashes with Carsington Duathlon so we need everyone possible to turn out.

We are always very short of vets (especially ladies), so please sign up if you can.

  • 4th December Allestree Park (probably)
  • 15th January Shepshed (Grace Dieu School)
  • 19th February Hinckley (venue TBC)
  • 4th March National Final for top 2 teams.
