The Double Duathlon is taking a break for 2012 - but will hopefully be back next year

Derby Double Duathlon

Sunday 3rd April: 08:00 start

Run 2.5k / Bike 12k / Run 2k / Bike 12k / Run 2k

Set in the idyllic grounds of Foremarke Hall, the home to Repton Prep School, the race is a unique Double Duathlon in the format run-bike-run-bike-run. This is the 4th year of this unorthodox race and it goes from strength to strength. The runs of approximately 2km (first run is slightly longer) will take place in the grounds of the school and will take place along a mixed terrain of paths, grass and tracks. The bike section will be a 12km undulating course on the roads around the school.

Whether you are an aspiring Olympian or looking for something new to challenge you the Derby Double Duathlon is the race for you. Not only do you have to master the art of running and cycling but your ability to perform the four transitions smoothly and swiftly will determine your overall performance – it has been known for some individuals to run in their bike helmets to save those vital seconds.

This is a fun and friendly race and is open to individuals and relay teams so whatever your reason for racing we hope to see you there.

How to enter

Entries are limited to 100 places so enter early to avoid disappointment.

Individuals
BTF Members – £25
Non-Members – £28 (includes BTF Day Licence)

Entry closing date is 31st March 2011

Relays
If you do not fancy doing the entire race yourself you can form a relay team. The make up of your team is up to you and can be made up of 2-5 people: in a 2 person team one person could run the other could cycle or in a 5 person team it is a different person on every leg.

BTF Members Team – £30

Each Non-BTF Member of a relay team will incur an additional £3 charge to cover the cost of the BTF Day Licence.

Under 18s
If you are under 18 and wish to race in either the individual event or in a relay team, you must get your parent or guardian to contact the organiser, Toby Mansfield directly.

Entries on the day
Entries on the day will be accepted if the 100 racers limit has not been reached.
