WEEKEND BIKE RIDE

Saturday Club Ride - 09:00 at John Port School, Etwall  running through the winter to the start of the Tri season in spring 2012.

Please check the Events Calendar to see what is happening.

The Club ride covers about 40 miles and incorporates a cafe stop about half way.  The main ride usually covers one of the folowing three routes on alternate weeks (click on the route name to see a map) however some weeks we may take different route the make the rides more interesting.

Depending on how many riders turn up and abilities, the intention is to set off in two group with both groups arriving at the arranged cafe at around 11.00am.

At this point riders can swap to the base group if they are tired etc.

Base Level
This ride is intended for through the winter base level training. We ride at a steady pace of around 15-20mph. Ideal for novices.

North Route - the route heads North from Etwall through the lanes to Carsington Visitor Centre for a well earned cup of tea. The return leg is normally the same route back but if someone wants to lead the group back an alternative way then this is always an option.

South Route - the route heads first around a portion of the Derby Triathlon Bike course before heading south for a stop at Rosliston Forrestry Centre / Beehive.  This route is a loop and continues east before heading north again and taking in part of the DTC time Trial Route before returning to Etwall.

West Route - The route heads North from Etwall and then heads West to Denstone Hall Farm cafe. We then head towards Uttoxeter and follow the A50 to Doverige, Sudbury, Scropton, Hatton and back through Hilton to Etwall.

Intermediate Level
This ride is intended for riders who are perhaps more experienced and wish to train at 18-25mph. This group will probably work on hill and speed training.

If you are not a Club Member but wish to join us for one of our rides then please just turn up or contact the ride organiser before hand steve.tatem@derbytriathlonclub.co.uk
